Music Ministry.
"Next to the Word of God, the noble art of music is the greatest treasure in the world." -- Martin Luther
Vision
What if the greatest music in the world was birthed out of the Church like it once was? What if the world looked to the Church instead of the other way around? What if Christian music was simply defined as music made by Christians...and was more about ministry and less about record sales?
This is the passion and vision of Hope Music Ministry Services (formerly known as the Hope Music Academy), which seeks to serve churches, ministries, worship leaders, and Christian recording artists as they seek to impact the world through music and the Gospel of Jesus.
Ministry
Music has a powerful and emotional impact on our lives. It
inspires, encourages, exhorts, and edifies. Music has been called the
soundtrack of our lives. It ushers us into the presence of our God
during worship, it comforts us when we're hurting, it brings a smile to
our face when we remember where we were the first time we heard that
special song.
It was important enough to God that He gave us our very first song
book, the Psalms. So it should be no surprise to us that people
continue to be impacted and moved toward God through this powerful tool
that He gave us. After all, the Creator is by nature a creative God.
And He has made us in His own image.
At Hope Music Ministry Services, we desire always to glorify God and
advance His kingdom by faithfully serving the people of His church, the
community, and ultimately the world. That is why we're always looking
for the God-sized opportunities that He provides to serve and minister
through music. Whether it be a Grammy-winning recording artist, or a
young woman dying of cancer, we take on each project or event with the
same level of care and an attitude of service.

History
What happens when two dynamic and forward-thinking leaders join forces and ignore traditional limitations and definitions of music ministry?
You get Hope Music Ministry Services (formerly known as the Hope Music Academy).
HMMS is the vision of Bruce Carroll, Director of Arts & Worship at Hope Presbyterian Church in Memphis, Tennessee, and his senior pastor, Dr. R. Craig Strickland.
As one of the most respected and influential singer/songwriters in
Christian music, Bruce has recorded nine best-selling solo projects,
sold more than two million albums, won two Grammy Awards, seven Dove
Awards, and enjoyed 11 No. 1 songs. Bruce's unique ability to tell a
story through a simple song helped make songs like "Sometimes Miracles
Hide," "Above and Beyond," "Who Will Be Jesus" and "The Great Exchange"
touch the hearts and change the lives of millions all over the world.
Today, Bruce continues to set trends and change lives in ways that only
God could inspire. At Hope Church, Bruce leads a 10-member band and
6,000+ people a week into worship. And if that weren't enough to keep
him busy, Bruce finds the time to champion the vision of Hope Music Ministry Services. Across the hall
from his office is The Grove Recording Studios, a state-of-the-art studio that is more
advanced than most you'd find on Music Row. When he's not leading
worship, you can usually find him in the studio noodling on a new song
idea or mentoring the next young artist with a guitar, a dream, and a
heart for Jesus.
Hope Music Ministry Services was birthed from Hope Church's
"A Greater Hope" campaign. The mission of Hope Church, under the
leadership of founder and church planter Craig Strickland, has been to
celebrate God's presence, communicate God's word, educate God's people,
and demonstrate God's love.
The "A Greater Hope" campaign stretched this vision outside the bounds
of the church building to reach the world for Jesus Christ. Each
initiative of the campaign focused on one of the four key points of
Hope's mission. In the case of Hope Music Ministry Services, the idea is to celebrate God's presence through music.
Bruce Carroll started an annual Summer Concert Series shortly after he came to Hope in 2000 that has grown into our Live Events ministry. The Grove Recording Studios opened in 2004, and Matthew Temple has been the Director since 2006.
