THIS WEEKEND @ HOPE:

QUIT SETTLING

JAN 21 & 22, 2012

Trust in the Lord with all your heart

And do not lean on your own understanding.

In all your ways acknowledge Him

And He will make your paths straight.

-Prov 3:5-6

Modern life is not just rushed, but full of inconvenience. We fill our lives to the brim with absolutely everything at all times! Our phones were once meant to keep us connected to family and friends, but now it keeps us plugged into work, TV and music. First it was blogs that made social networking fun and engaging, but then blogs were replaced by facebook and facebook was replaced by Twitter. The average American used to be concerned with feeding and clothing their family, and now most Americans feel inconvenienced when they can't have the newest fashions or eat the tastiest food. Politicians tell us that this way of thinking is correct or that way of thinking is better. Even in a time of economic crisis, we are bombared from all sides to pay attention, crave and spend. Things have gotten loud, complicated and BUSY.

But even in all the noise, God hears our cries of confusion, frustration and discouragement, and He's calling us to a life that's far more worth living than the web of "life" that we've found ourselves trapped in. All we have to do is listen.
