Urban Missions.

From its inception, Hope has taken seriously our Lord’s command to care for the under-resourced among us.

To that end, we have implemented a rich variety of successful urban inititatives that has become part of our DNA. These programs foster relationships between people from two very different backgrounds and lifestyles. They make friends out of strangers, and heal the wounds of our past.

There is a distinct Biblical mandate to serve the under-resourced and oppressed. It is commanded and modeled throughout Scripture. The Bible is filled with instructions to show compassion to the under-resourced. A beautiful expression of God’s love is found in Matthew 25:37-40:

“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you? “The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me’ (NIV)

Please feel free to contact the urban department if you have questions or concerns. We look forward to hearing from you and getting you plugged into God’s calling for your life!
