STEP (Infants-2 Years) Coordinator
This is a key member of the Hope for Kids team who will oversee the leadership and programming for all children from infancy to two years of age. This includes developing and implementing a family/children’s ministry plan, partnering, curriculum/ lessons, team building, and more. Work with passionate volunteers and continue to create an environment that nurtures a community of people to be cared for and care for the image of God in the children of Hope Church. This is a full-time, non-exempt, hourly position. Salary is commensurate with experience.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Infant/Toddler leader and shepherd to kids, volunteers, and parents
- Develop and manage lesson plans and environment for Infant/Toddler ministry
- Oversee weekend worship and care for infant/toddlers
- Available to work regular weekend services and weeknights when classes are being conducted
- Ensure all rooms and area of nursery are organized, safe, clean, and set-up for the worship programs
- Recruit, develop and lead a volunteer team in the proper guidelines for healthy care and faith development of the children
- Assign and set schedule of volunteers for each service of worship for infant/toddlers.
- Partner with new mothers and fathers in connecting them to Hope 4 Kids and Hope Church
- Resource parents with early faith development practices along with developmental milestones to celebrate
- Physically capable to tend to multiple children for consoling and diaper changing
- Champion the mission, vision, and values of the Hope 4 Kids Ministry
Other duties and resPonsibilities
- Complete additional tasks as assigned by the Director of Children’s Ministry
- Help with any church-wide activities, programs, and services
- Work with shared spaces ministries regarding nursery area
- Work in conjunction with Preschool ministry coordinator for continued faith development
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma
- College degree or equivalent
Skills & Experience
- Personal relationship with Jesus Christ as the Lord and Savior and spiritually healthy family
- 3+ years experience early childhood ministry/education
- Physically capable and willing to tend to the physical needs
- Strong planning and implementation skills
- Excellent Verbal and written communication skills
- Team player
- Energetic leader who is encouraging, patient, and persevering
- Computer literate and solid user of PC/ Mac
- Comfortable in an un-churched and culturally diverse environment
