Hope is proud and excited to host the 38th General Assembly of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, June 19-22, with this year's theme being Forward.
The General Assembly is the annual June event where our denomination ( the Evangelical Presbyterian Church) leaders gather to worship, get refreshed and equipped, connect with each other, and decide on actions and issue for the whole EPC. Be part of hosting our denomination’s annual meeting. You can learn more about the schedule at https://www.epc.org/ga2018
This event allows our visiting church leaders the opportunity, at least for a few days, to become members of a church rather than leaders of their congregations. They look forward to going to GA because it’s more of a spiritual retreat than a business meeting. They come to be encouraged, energized and renewed. Great things happen when the leaders of over 600 churches come together to be encouraged, energized and celebrated.
With the incredible servant-hearted family of Hope, we will make over 1,500 guests feel welcome and wanted at this year's General Assembly meeting. There are a variety of volunteer opportunites listed below with multiple times to choose from, so there is something available for all schedules. Buy a ticket and join us in welcoming the General Assembly to Memphis. Wednesday night, June 20, come and be part of the audience for the Michael Jr. Concert and casually serve as a “Hope host.” A limited number of tickets are available for purchase below.
During the entire General Assembly, there will be a prayer ministry at Hope. You can contact Amy Puddephatt (Amy.Puddephatt@HopeChurchMemphis.com) if you are interested in helping out with this great team.
Open up your home to house one of our guests. For some churches the cost of travel and hotels is prohibitive. Those staying in a home will be responsible for their own transportation and meals during the day. Breakfast would be a nice treat. Contact Beverly.Campbell@HopeChurchMemphis.com if you’d like to offer your home as a place to stay.
