part-time housekeeping team member

This position will be an essential part of the Facilities/Housekeeping Department at Hope Church with the overall responsibility of cleaning Hope’s campus, as well as maintaining a high standard of excellence in the overall appearance of the facility. This is a part-time position.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Must be available to work 4 or 5 days as scheduled
  • Must be able to work afternoons/evenings and weekends
  • Maintain the various areas of the church on their weekly and monthly cleaning schedules, as well as completing unscheduled tasks that arise
  • Clean various areas of the church in accordance with the “Checklist of Cleaning Responsibilities,” which provide the general cleaning needs of the buildings, but are not limited to that list
  • Maintain a well-organized stock of supplies associated with housekeeping work that is accessible to other ministries of the church
  • Be in good physical health (ability to transfer weight up to 50 pounds; ability to climb and work from ladders; ability to walk, stand, sit, and kneel when needed)

Other duties and resPonsibilities

  • Interacting with Church staff and visitors in a respectful, positive manner
  • Schedule personal time off not to occur during the week prior to and week of
  • Be available to work Easter, Christmas, Graduations, Vacation Bible School and other major Church events
  • Other duties as assigned

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma

Skills & Experience requirements

  • Observing proper chemical handling procedures when working with cleaning agents, including wearing gloves, goggles or masks and following writte, and verbal instructions
  • Ability to use various Housekeeping equipment and tools to perform job duties such as: vacuum, cleaners, hand tools, scrubbers, buffers and trash compactor
  • Have strong service skills and a team mentality
  • Have strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Applicant must pass a criminal history background check
  • Be conscientious and able to work independently (unsupervised)
  • Have reliable transportation to work
