Local Outreach

local Outreach Ministry

From its inception, Hope has taken seriously our Lord's command to care for the under-resourced among us. To that end, we have implemented a rich variety of successful local initiatives that have become part of our DNA. These programs foster relationships between people from two very different backgrounds and lifestyles. They make friends out of strangers and heal the wounds of our past.

JUSTICE TOUR

A Three-Day Spiritual Retreat in ALABAMA

Join us for this three-day spiritual retreat in Alabama June 2-4, 2023! If you’ve never seen the movie “Selma,” we encourage you to watch it, then join Pastor Eli Morris and the Local Outreach Staff for the annual Justice Tour to Montgomery, Selma, and Birmingham, AL. Throughout this life-changing journey, you will have the opportunity to walk the same paths as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and other civil rights activists of the late ‘50s and ‘60s during turbulent times in our country as they fought for equal rights for all. It is a powerful and rich history lesson. Limited Seats! Don’t miss out!

HISTORY OF HOPE Local OUTREACH

For more than 25 years, the Local Ministry of Hope Church has offered life-changing experiences through the Urban Plunge and Justice Tour of the Civil Rights Movement. These events have been instrumental in getting individuals engaged by serving others through discipleship and giving. The Local Outreach Ministry serves over 1,000 families annually through Thanksgiving Food Drives, Back-to-School Drive, and sponsoring families during Christmas with the Tree of Hope.

WHAT WE DO

Our ministry has been avid about serving hundreds of children annually in the under-resourced areas of Memphis with Resurrection activities and hosting Vacation Bible School sessions during the summer at various churches in South Memphis, Frayser, and other areas of the city. To get involved, take a look at some of our volunteer opportunities below.
