From its inception, Hope has taken seriously our Lord's command to care for the under-resourced among us. To that end, we have implemented a rich variety of successful local initiatives that have become part of our DNA. These programs foster relationships between people from two very different backgrounds and lifestyles. They make friends out of strangers and heal the wounds of our past.
For more than 25 years, the Local Ministry of Hope Church has offered life-changing experiences through the Urban Plunge and Justice Tour of Civil Rights Movement. These events have been instrumental to getting individuals engaged by serving others through discipleship and giving. The Local Outreach Ministry serves over 1,000 families annually through Thanksgiving Food Drives, Back-to-School Drive and sponsoring families during Christmas with the Tree of Hope.
Our ministry has been avid about serving hundreds of children annually in the under resourced areas of Memphis with Resurrection activities and hosting Vacation Bible School sessions during the summer at various churches in South Memphis, Frayser and other areas of the city. To get involved, take a look at some of our volunteer opportunities below.
Hope Quilters have a long-running ministry of blessing moms and babies in Memphis area hospitals. Quilters provide quilts for preemies, moms who have experienced difficult births, and others in need. If you're interested in quilting and would like to be a blessing, we'd love for you to connect with us! All are welcome, no matter your skill level.
