The Tree Stand  I've got the greatest Christmas tree stand, it will hold any size trunk, it's got 8 screws clamps to hold the tree and you can make all kinds of small adjustments to stand it up straight just by turning these 8 screws. It holds about a gallon of water, it even has a place to put the water in without pushing the tree over, and it's green. Rules for Thanksgiving I don't remember ever going out of town or to someone else's house for Thanksgiving. I'm sure we got invited, but I never knew about it. I think my mom was afraid that outsiders wouldn't follow the rules. There are rules about Thanksgiving, mostly food rules: Turkey, green bean casserole, sweet potatoes with "mush mellows"(that's the way it should be spelled), and canned cranberry sauce. The Big Dennis  I used to teach and coach at Cypress Jr High just north of Rhodes College. A good friend of mine was the head football coach and I was the assistant. We had a great bunch of kids and some amazing athletes, one was named Dennis.  Dennis was in the 8th grade, 6 feet tall and weighed 220 pounds. Not only was he big, he was quick. Excuse me bartender, can I have another shot of Robitussin. I've gotten to a point where I go to the doctor sooner rather than later. I really don't mind the doctor or shots or pills or taking off my clothes. I just hate sitting in the waiting room with a bunch of sick people.
