The Drive A friend of mine gave me a copy of a recent Vanderbilt magazine. It had a picture of an old friend of mine from 40 years ago. When I was going to school there all of the athletes lived in the same dorms as everybody else. One of my best friends was Jeff Fosnes. He was on the basketball team and was in the sports page a lot. Close your eyes and push off. I was going home this week and there on the side of the road in one of the fields by the Agricenter, people were ice skating. The field had been flooded and had frozen. It was a little winter wonderland. Some people had skates, some were just sliding around. One kid had Skates, a hockey stick and a puck and was skating around like he was in the NHL. The Ice Cream Man A few years back a friend of mine was in the hospital. She had just had surgery and the doctors had kept her there for a week. After the first day she started getting hungry for something other than Jell-O. "Ice cream" she said, she wanted Ice cream. She didn't care about anything else.. That was easy. Big Complete Dessert I really like desert. One of my favorite restaurants in town used to make their own Pecan pie. You could tell they made it because the crust was about ¼ of an inch thick, too thick really, and it was a little tough, but it was really good. It was the kind of crust that you broke off around the edges and ate separately, like chips and dip.
