Even when you know it's true… Kirk Whalum did a concert at Hope one summer. It was one of the best concerts I've EVER been to. Not just here at Hope, but anywhere, ever. Kirk Whalum and John Stoddart are as good as it gets, and together they are even better.  The coolest thing he did was right in the middle of a song he walked off the stage into the crowd. Roasted Moose I used to park cars on Sunday morning from up on the roof of the church. It's a flat roof, so you can walk around up there. I was the spotter with a radio for the guys in the parking lot. This Week

Subtitles I rented a movie once and was getting ready to watch it. The movie that I thought I was going to watch was in the pre-views. Seemed a little strange. Then the title showed up, right title, standard music, then the credits started and they were all in Japanese. More music, title shows up again in English, then they start talking, all Japanese, everybody in it is Japanese, subtitles start going across the bottom. Building Dams We built a climbing wall on stage one year for a sermon.  It was small as far as climbing walls go but it was pretty big as far a moving it around and getting it up on stage. It was 8x16 feet and weighed a few hundred pounds.  Some guys made it.
