Perception We had our first ever real fire at Hope years ago on a Wednesday night. Several people came told me there was a grass fire in the back parking lot. Crawling out. Somebody came up to me one Sunday and said "I go to Starbucks every Sunday morning, want me to get you one too?" I don't ever turn down stuff because I know people are trying to be nice and they are trying to give me a present and if you turn it down it hurts their feelings and they were trying to do something good and I wouldn't let them...etc...plus I like getting presents. Painless Perspective I was reading an issue of Wired Magazine. It had answers to all the big questions you might have: Why do we need to sleep? Why can't we predict the weather a year out?  Is time an illusion?  Where are my Keys?  stuff like that. One question was "Why do Placebos work?". Ice Sculpture One of my favorite Olympic sports is Curling. It's probably the only Olympic sport where cheating is part of the rules. You can see how curling got started, two guys were ice fishing and weren't catching anything so they started pushing big rocks into the hole.
