Media Production Specialist

Hope is a Memphis leader in producing high-impact, purposeful, non-profit video for our growing 6500 person audience. Our desire is to continue this legacy by improving on the direction we’ve already set. The primary mission of the Media Production Specialist is to support and enhance the look and feel of all Hope produced video content. Our goal is to unite our contemporary audience with God’s ageless truths by using media forms they observe in everyday life. With this goal in mind, the Production Specialist couples the production responsibilities of a DP (help concept, shoot and light) with the post-production responsibilities of an editor/animator (basic editing, color-correcting/altering, compositing, animating/creating graphics). The Production Specialist will also create graphic and motion graphic content for our live weekly service productions. This is an exempt, full time, salaried position.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities


  • Produces short-form in-house media
  • Confers with Director on concept and overall direction of individual projects
  • Develops creative content, writes original scripts and champions production ideas to leadership
  • Determines all camera and lighting requirements for shoots to achieve desired scene interpretation
  • Determines audio requirements for shoots and monitors proper audio during shooting
  • Designs stage and lighting accents for weekend services
  • Learns in-house production system workflow and troubleshooting


  • Edits projects, per individual segment requirements
  • Creates graphics and animations for live events and productions
  • Determines and cuts music soundtracks and audio, as needed
  • Re-purposes and compresses content for multiple distribution paths
  • Supports SAN and other related computer hardware/software including Media Asset Management
  • Responsible for learning and mastering all related software and hardware

Technical requirements:

  • Expert knowledge of After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop
  • A reel demonstrating compositing skills, work in 3D element creation or manipulation, and/or creative camera and editing techniques is a plus
  • Understanding of Ross Xpression Design & Workflow a plus


  • College Degree required
  • 2-5 years experience in Broadcast and/or Corporate/Non-Profit video production
  • Expert knowledge of Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop
  • Reel demonstrating creativity in production and post-production technique


  • Helps maintain all video equipment on Hope campus
  • Supports Hope video needs, including (but not limited to) Media Archiving, networking with other churches, speaking at meetings/conferences, ministering to volunteers
  • Proposes and helps implement the future direction of HPC’s growing video ministry, including helping to propose budgets and research new media technologies
  • Supports stage design and lighting needs in our 5000 seat sanctuary
