Preschool (3 yr-Kindergarten) ministry coordinator

Join a key ministry of the Hope for Kids team. Oversee the leadership and programming for all children ages Three through Kindergarten. This includes developing and implementing a family/children’s ministry plan, outreach, events, curriculum/ lessons, team building and more. Work with passionate volunteers and continue to create an environment that nurtures a community of people who care for and value developing faith in the next generation.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Preschool Leader and Shepherd to volunteers, parents and kids
  • Oversee worship services and classes for children ages Three through Kindergarten
  • Available to work three of the four regular weekend services and weeknights when classes are being conducted
  • Create, plan, organize, and direct ministry programming and curriculum through promotion to elementary
  • Build and lead co-shepherd and volunteer teams by providing ongoing training/teaching for ministry and discipleship
  • Continue to implement a family ministry strategy as a means of empowering and equipping parents as they seek to nurture faith in Christ in their children.
  • Assist the Director and Assistant Director in coordinating Hope 4 Kids special events (VBS, Movie Nights, and other events as directed)
  • Regularly engage Hope 4 Kids families of preschool attenders through pastoral shepherding
  • Create and establish an H4K preschool environment that facilitates best practices regarding safety
  • Champion the mission, vision, and values of the Hope 4 Kids Ministry

Other duties and resPonsibilities

  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by manager or Director of Children's Ministry
  • Assume a leadership role in all Hope 4 Kids special events
  • Work well with weekday Preschool program with shared space
  • Actively recruit volunteers for all facets of the Hope 4 Kids Ministry
  • Help with any churchwide activities, programs and services
  • Physically capable to pick up kids, get down on the floor to be on kids' level and easily get back up again

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • College Degree or Equivalent

Skills & Experience

  • Personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and spiritually healthy family
  • Passion for teaching and sharing God’s love with children
  • Strong planning and implementation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Energetic leader and encourager and team player
  • Computer literate and solid user of PC/software
  • Comfortable in an un-churched and culturally diverse environment
