Weekend Navigator

The Weekend Navigator is a key senior leader with the primary responsibility to write/produce/execute/organize & synthesize the logistics of our weekend worship or High Holy Days, in conjunction with the Sr. Pastor & Executive Leadership Team. They also facilitate our weekly Creative Design meetings & biannual retreats, which create our preaching/teaching series as well as generate presentation ideas in correlation to our mission, 4 pillars, and core values, with excellence. Hope is 30 years old and the largest Presbyterian Church in America with an average of 6800-7000 souls attending each weekend. This is an exempt, full-time salaried position.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Navigate weekly worship & High Holy Day (Christmas, Easter, etc.) organizational logistics, with some writing and production skills required.
  • Facilitate Creative Design weekly meetings and off-campus, biannual retreats as well as assign follow-up tasks.
  • Maintain preaching team calendar. 
  • Attend Saturday rehearsals to gauge readiness of stage team and share front-row weekend support for all services.
  • Facilitate Saturday night weekly debriefing meetings.
  • Assign Staff roles for the weekend, such as prayer room, front row, announcement and prayer personnel, and all other weekend assignments.
  • Synthesize with Communications Team key bulletin announcements and promotion of ministries.
  • Synchronize with Assistant Project Manager the church’s annual calendar and ministry leader’s events that compliment any given weekend.
  • Maintain and plans ministry budget expense goals in conjunction with Executive Director of Ministry and Chief Financial Officer.
  • Manages and ensures success of all Special Events generated by the Senior Pastor or Executive Team, including team management and appraisal, task management and organization.
  • Oversee communion weekends including staffing. 
  • Does “whatever it takes” to successfully accomplish the mission of Jesus Christ here at Hope.

Education Requirements

  • Bible College or Seminary degree preferred but not required
  • Multiple years of organizing general and specific spiritual events

Skills & Experience

  • Excellent interpersonal, communications and presentation skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Holy Scriptures, biblical ministry models and strategies.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt well to change, with a relaxed mental attitude
  • Five years of productive senior level leadership
